Rethymno Prefecture, Crete, Greece

The town of Rethymno on the Island of Crete is a continuation of the old town and is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. Perhaps the most famous attraction of Rethymno is the Fortezza Venetian fortress, from which the view across the city is impressive. The small Venetian harbor of the old town gives you the impression that has sprung from a painting.

It is worth visiting the city garden, the Great Gate, the Monastery of Arkadi and mosque Neratzes.

Very famous tourist resort of the county, is Bali. In crowded beach you will find everything, cafes, bars and water sports.

South of Rethymno is the cosmopolitan Agia Galini. If you want peaceful holidays, you should probably look for another location as the beach of Agia Galini is literally flooded with people who seek intense fun!

One of the most beautiful beaches of Rethymno is Preveli beach. The river flows into the sea in conjunction with palm trees creating a scenery of incomparable beauty. You can arrive by car or by boat from Plakias.

Plakias built near the beach it has a small harbor and from there you have access to many beaches and of course the beautiful beach of Souda.
